How to Choose the Best Cashmere

If you’re planning to load up your wardrobe with some exquisitely best cashmere products like wraps, shawls, stoles, scarves or even sweaters and cardigans, and you aren’t sure how to choose and what, check out the below list of things to do to get more reliable and pure product to flaunt!

Feel the difference

Authentic cashmere is softer than all the other materials. You need to feel the difference. But this can be really tricky because silk too is soft so a seller can easily cheat you on this. Pashmina blended with silk will be soft too. Here, you need to remember two things – first, freshly woven pashmina is never soft as per the market standards, it is treated artificially to fit the standards. So, if the seller says it is freshly woven, it won’t be that soft. The silk blended will also not be that soft as will be the original fabric once it has been treated with the softener. Second, if you have never had a glimpse of it by touching or feeling it before don’t go alone for the shopping. Take with you somebody who has done it before.

Check for authenticity

Of course, there are dubious people ready with fraudulent plans but an authentic company or manufacturer with registered trademark will not get into such counterfeiting activities. This means you need to choose such manufacturers or sellers who have been in the market for quite some time now. Enquire about them in details.

Manufacturer offering lab testing

If the seller is authentic, you’ll be offered lab tested material. Most manufacturing companies and sellers provide textile lab testing reports as a part of their authenticity claims and guarantees. Don’t forget to look for such reports and certificates.

See the percentage

When you’re looking for best cashmere products, checking the percentage is vital. The more the percentage is the better is the quality. Even the softness and feel of the material depends on the percentage used. While some products are made from 100% cashmere, some have 70% of it blended with 30% silk. Both these varieties are top selling and luxurious buying options. However, there are still other products with 50% or as less as 20%-10%. With percentage getting reduced, the price also gets reduced. But if you want a real classy and sophisticated feel, stick to higher % options, they will come pricy but will be worth the money you spend.

Look for micron count

It is essential to check the micron count. It won’t only test the purity of the material but will also ensure lightness, softness and delicate feel of the material. Also, in some markets, a standard micron count is made fundamental as a part of quality assurance check by the government or federal laws. For instance, in the United States, 19 micron count is important for selling cashmere products or one can be sued.

Simpler the better

Ask yourself what exactly you want. Do you want the style, elegance and fashion-savvy stuff for winter parties or are you looking for authentic, pure, completely original material to feel proud of? If your choice is former, go for blended products as the blended products are more attractive with all kinds of fashion savvier things done to them. But if your choice is later, you’ll get simpler but gracefully woven stuff with more of originality and better purity.
